Martial Arts Guide

Style: Miao Quan

Description: Originating from the Guanxi province, this style traces its roots back to a period before the first Emperors of China, and is associated with the primordial combat style Jiao Di (literally horn hit).

This is a very combative style and thus all of its techniques are based upon the needs and rigors of war and hunting. It is similar to many Southern styles of kung fu in that it is very powerful and has low, immovable stances. It also has powerful Fa Jing that makes an audible sound, as in Chen Style.

Today, its most renowned proponent is Liang Wai Ling, who has combined his ancestral Miao lineage with the techniques of Hong Quan and Hou Quan to create Gui Bei Miao Quan.
