Martial Arts Guide

Style: Black Tiger Fist

Description:

There are three different schools of black tiger fist, or He Hu Quan.

The first is from the southern province of Zhejiang in the coastal region of Taizhou and is sometimes know as Zheijiang Nanquan.

The second school comes from the southeastern province of Sichuan, which is the largest and most populated region of China today, with over 100 million inhabitants. Sichuan Black Tiger fist has the low stances typical of Southern styles, but also has long arm movements more akin to northern long fist schools. This school has spread to areas both west and south of Sichuan.

Lastly, there is a Black Tiger fist that descends from the northern province of Gansu, on the border of Mongolia. Despite being the most isolated of the three schools, this region is the closest to any remaining wild tigers.
